Dr Kate Renshall, B.A (Hons), MSc., D. Clin Psych

Hi! I’m Kate, I’m a Clinical Psychologist and have been working for over 10 years helping people experiencing difficulties with their emotional wellbeing. I completed my Doctorate of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sydney and since that time have worked with people experiencing conflict in their relationships as well as mental health issues (like anxiety or depression) or stress. I have also worked as a consultant psychologist for television shows such as The Voice and My Kitchen Rules.

I’m particularly interested in how our wellbeing impacts our relationships with others and how our relationships influence our mental heath. My approach is warm, practical and evidence-based.

I want therapy to be a place where you can think through the challenges you are facing with the help of someone objective. I think that when we have a safe, regulating space to talk about our issues and emotions, we can find solutions and make progress. I also believe that therapy can help us learn new ways of interacting with our emotions so they feel less overwhelming and we feel more capable of living the fulfilled life we imagine for ourselves.

Parent Coaching:

In addition I like working with parents throughout the development of their child(ren). I have experience helping parents navigate the perinatal period, including dealing with issues relating to postnatal depression, anxiety and anger as well as parent-infant bonding. In addition, I can help support parents through difficult developmental (e.g. toddlerdom, adolescence) or life transitions (e.g. parental separation or illness).
